The Valencia CF midfielder looks at the defeat against Real Sociedad
The game
“We gave our all. We fought until the end at a difficult ground. We improved a lot in the second half because we changed our mentality and we had more personality. It is difficult to play here and concede a goal in the first few minutes, because we are a young team and having that personality is difficult. The difference from the first to the second half was that."
The second half
“In the second half, we had better chances than them. We had some shots from Alberto and Peter and we also controlled the game a little more with the ball -because in the first half we didn't have it and that makes the difference."
The goal conceded
“We are a young team and conceding a goal in the opening minutes is difficult, because we don't have the experience of keeping calm and asking for the ball, because if you don't ask for the ball it is very difficult to play well. The 11 players have to have the personality of getting the ball -and that is what we changed in the second half."
The 2023/24 season
“Fighting for Europe with such a young group was meritworthy. We have to be proud and now we have to enjoy it, but always with the ambition of winning games. At the beginning of the season, no one believed in us being up there, and we have to be proud of ourselves, of the group. We are young and we are going to learn from this so that we can do better next season.”
